I love Glasgow. The architecture, the hustle and bustle of Buchannan Street, the parks from Victoria to Kelvingrove. But I can’t imagine how my great love of this city would have developed without being able to see it. Until now.
Terra Incognita, run by Artistic Director and theatre practitioner Victoria Beesley, has been working with a group of volunteers with sight loss and visual impairment to create a unique walking tour of Kelvingrove Park.
Glasgow from a different view
Through a series of weekly workshops, these amazing tour guides have explored their relationships with Glasgow – the smell, taste, feel and sound of the city; highlighting a side of the city that most of us may miss. And now you can experience this unique perspective through their walking tours.
The tour guides have a range of experience from Frank, a professional musician; Kathy, an experienced midwife, Emmanuel originally from Nigeria and Joseph who has lived in the Gorbals all his life.
This Saturday join them in Kelvingrove Park to experience the walking tour for yourself. Tickets are free but you need to book. And if you can’t make the tours in-person, an audio tour of the walk will be available listen in the Arches Foyer from Monday 10 November.
These amazing insightful guided walk and audio tours are brimming with history, personal stories and let you experience Glasgow in a totally different way.
